Coordinator of Program Activities: Migrant Education- Philadelphia, Chester County Intermediate Unit

At the present time, a vacancy for a full-time Coordinator of Program Activities/ Program Specialist exists for the Migrant Education Program within the Student Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU).
This position will serve as a Coordinator of Program Activities and a Program Specialist in Project Area 1 based in Philadelphia. (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware Counties) and is responsible for coordinating programmatic and student-related management activities. Additionally, the position is responsible for recruitment, student support, and parent involvement activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all after-school, and summer programs for the Regional Migrant Education Program.
- Coordinate activities with the Philadelphia School District and other agencies and service providers that benefit regional migrant students.
- Ensure development and completion of Needs Assessment forms and student evaluations as required by State regulation
- Coordinate activities of Students Support Specialists, Recruiters, Parent Coordinator, Instructional Assistants and Student Aides in the Regional Migrant Education Program
- Facilitate the involvement of parents in the education of their children through translation/Interpretation, information, training and referrals.
- Supervisor a team of program specialists in MEP Project Area 1
- Carry a caseload as a half-time Program Specialist and accomplish other tasks
