Position Description
Position: Coordinator of Internships and Industry Pipelines
Reports To: Manager Internships and Industry Pipelines
Primary Objective:
Plan and implement both summer and year round internships and industry pipelines. The coordinator of Internships and Industry Pipelines ensures the implementation of a robust internship and job placement model as well as effective Industry Pipelines that support career academy students in targeted PAI partner schools.
Duties & Responsibilities
Internship and Job Development
• Secure internships and work-based experiences for PAI academy students
• Refers qualified student applicants to employers and conduct necessary follow-up when applicants are placed in positions
• Keeps updated regarding job fairs and Internet resources; researches various employment programs for high school youth
• Participates in outreach and recruitment activities by coordinating and attending job fairs and information sessions about year round and summer internship opportunities
Industry Pipeline
Implement robust Industry Pipelines in high-growth industry areas that have specific workforce needs and appropriate human and financial resources to support a pipeline strategy.
Relationship Management
Market and facilitate internships and pipelines with the following groups: employers, Chamber of Commerce, societies and associations, youth service organizations, post-secondary institutions and vocational training agencies.

Project Leadership and Collaboration
Able to think systemically about problems and issues; create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements; identify resources needed; analyze relevant data, identify problems and propose solutions; implement multiple projects simultaneously with supervision and support from manager; ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Communications and Relationship Management
Excellent writing and analytical skills; ability to adapt and adjust to different employment environments and situations; ability to listen openly to what other people are saying and ask appropriate questions.
Youth Engagement and Development
Prepare youth for specific industry/career areas by expanding their knowledge about the possible careers through partnership where they are challenged to learn, grow and apply educational tools in a corporate setting. Must have an ability to engage young people and gain enjoyment from the experience; knowledge of different ways of learning and ability to use multiple approaches to learning.
Technology
Comfort and skill with major business software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel); and familiarization and experience with data management software such as Raiser’s Edge.
Deliverables
· Facilitate and drive the operational and functional process with PYN and other youth serving employer organizations
· Implement a consistent youth skill development framework for the High Schools, Industry Partners, and Post-secondary institutions
· Utilize employer feedback system that evaluates both the employee and the support system
· Facilitate professional development with youth participating in internships and industry pipelines
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
