Coordinator – College Access Program (Full-Time), Project HOME

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group guidance about college access to high school juniors and seniors. Advising high school students about the college selection process, how to complete college applications and enrolling in college.
- Provide SAT prep instructions and direct assistance with the financial aid process.
- Create an individual plan and timeline for each participant in the college application and enrollment process; manage individual student files and meet regularly with students and parents to track progress.
- Organize/provide student trips to targeted local/regional colleges and accompany students on trips.
- Follow and support students throughout their college experience, providing academic guidance and job search support to students while away at school.
- Build relationships with local schools, universities, organizations, and individuals to provide college preparation programming and oversee all CAP resources including utilization of volunteers for tutoring and other support.
- Plan, organize, and provide workshops for participants and their parents about college choices, financial aid and other relevant topics.
- Organize and maintain an efficient filing system for student records and manage/record all CAP data in required data system.
- Create and implement a support system for staff to better meet the needs of families and students. This will include professional development and one-on-one consulting with staff to problem solve family concerns and help connect families to community resources.
