Position Title: Consultant: Regional Meeting Coordinator
Position Type: At-will Contract
Project Period: Flexible, with all work completed by September 30, 2004
Rate: $1000
Location: Regional Meetings will occur in each of these cities: Chicago, IL; Memphis,TN; Philadelphia, PA; Phoenix, AZ; and Portland, OR.

Description of Work:
The consultant will be responsible for activities and deliverables related to the implementation of a regional meeting to support the exchange of information and the development of joint activities among CTCs (with a particular emphasis on Department of Education CTC grantees), schools, and other local entities.

Under the direction of the Project Supervisor, the consultant will:
. Determine the date and location of the Regional Meeting
. Provide appropriate outreach to target groups (e-mail lists, targeted phone calls, mailings, etc.)
. Develop the content of the meeting to reflect needs of the local community using as an overall theme, the topic of increasing high school achievement for youth at low-performing schools
. Recruit all presenters
. Work with Project Supervisor to create and disseminate, and compile evaluation tools for the Regional Meeting
. Record and report the results of the Regional Meeting
. Manage Regional Meeting Budget and submit original receipts for all expenses (meeting budget is provided)
. Secure additional funding if needed
. Recruit panelists and panelist biographies for each online panel (dates listed below)
. Provide any necessary follow-up required

Skills/Experience
Applicants should possess experience in improving academic achievement for high school youth through out of school activities, particularly as these relate to CTCs. Applicants should be well versed in the landscape of the local Community Technology Movement. Additionally, qualified applicants will possess strong research, organizational, and time management skills.
