Construction Site Supervisor, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County
Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise construction activity at jobsites in Montgomery County, PA · perform work in accordance with HFHMC’s plans, specifications, and quality requirements (safe, simple, decent, affordable housing) as well as all local and national building codes · ensure all needed tools and materials are on site for each day’s work and that tools and equipment are cared for properly and in good working order · maintain a safe, clean, organized, and secure jobsite · coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials, the scheduling of inspections, and the use of paid contractors with Director of Construction · work with Director of Construction to set and maintain a schedule for each assigned project · regularly report progress, problems, and needs to Director of Construction and track jobsite activity and deliveries in a site log · implement all HFHMC safety policies and ensure all employees and volunteers on site adhere to these policies
Instruct and manage volunteers and partner families on site · create a positive, safe, productive experience for all volunteers and partner families working on site, assessing volunteer strengths and abilities and assigning tasks accordingly · train volunteers to correctly and safely perform all construction activities in which they participate, demonstrating and monitoring safe use of tools and equipment · present a daily safety orientation to all volunteers and ensure volunteers are equipped with PPE appropriate for their assigned tasks · develop and cultivate a core of Regular Volunteers to assist with construction and to lead small teams of unskilled volunteers · work with Community Outreach Manager and Director of Construction to identify and schedule volunteer opportunities on the jobsite · provide first aid on site when required and maintain a stocked and clean first aid kit · share and promote the history and mission of HFHMC with volunteers on site
Work physically as a skilled construction leader · perform tasks not suited for unskilled volunteer workers · perform warranty repairs as necessary on completed houses · perform additional tasks as assigned by Director of Construction and Executive Director · attend regular all-staff and construction-staff meetings · act as a representative of HFHMC on the jobsite and in the community
