Gardening for Seniors Event
Join GenPhilly members the Fairmount Park Conservancy, Klein & Stiffel JCCs, Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and the Salvation Army on Tuesday, February 1, for GERMINATING PARTNERSHIPS: Connecting Seniors with Community Gardens.
Community gardens nearby or at senior centers and housing facilities can provide elders with the opportunity to grow their own food, exercise, share their knowledge, and express creativity. Come hear panelists who will discuss current projects and opportunities, and then participate in breakout sessions designed to connect you to resources in your own neighborhood.
