Taylor Branch, a national authority on the civil rights movement, will deliver the closing keynote address at Public Education Network’s 2002 annual conference, “Standards-Based Reform: A Civic Imperative.” Featured speakers include Harvard professor and author Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot speaking on “Building Respect & Reverence for Public Education”; Boston schools chief Tom Payzant; and Maryland state school superintendent, Nancy Grasmick.
