December 9: Composting Workshop. Philadelphia’s Streets Department offers a free two-hour workshop to teach effective composting methods. Attendees receive a free training manual on backyard and worm composting. Location: Whitman Branch Library, 200 Snyder Avenue. To register, call 215-686-5444, then press #2.
