For practitioners assisting students with college financial aid applications: The day’s presentations will provide an in-depth look at supporting families who are not easily categorized in FAFSA and financial aid applications. Specifically, presenters and financial aid experts will discuss issues impacting refugees and students who have been granted asylum, unhoused youth and youth in the foster care system and provide practical financial aid advice for working with them.
PHEAA representatives will also provide updates on the state grant program. The day will end with a panel of financial aid officers discussing their take on the issues highlighted throughout the day as well as trends they see and anticipate in financial aid. Bring your own examples and questions.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. This in-person event is free but you must register in advance.
