Position Title: Community Outreach Student Interns

Position Summary: Community Outreach Student Interns will direct workforce development services aimed at low-income people by conducting research on a target Asian community and performing outreach.
Position Details: This paid part-time internship will run approximately 6 to 10 weeks. Interns will receive $10 per hour and work approximately 15 hours per week.

Qualifications:

· Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate academic program
· Community outreach and/or health education experience preferred
· Demonstrated knowledge of local Asian communities preferred
· Ability to build trust quickly with community members and agency partners
· Outgoing personality and excellent customer service skills
· Ability to work as part of a team or independently as duties require
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
· Bilingual proficiency in English and at least one Asian language required
· Ability to accurately enter data into computer software, such as Microsoft Office suite
· Interest in medical services, aging services, and/or public health
· Valid Driver’s License, current automobile insurance, and access to a vehicle required

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Gain a full and complete understanding of a targeted Asian community
· Conduct research on a targeted Asian community by identifying community leaders and assessing community needs
· Develop and conduct linguistically and culturally appropriate outreach efforts to recruit Nurse Aide students
· Work with the organization’s administrative staff to develop bilingual outreach materials
· Serve as the organization’s liaison to the targeted Asian community
· Represent the organization at community events as needed
