Urban Tree Connection (UTC)’s mission is to build a neighborhood rooted food and land system through community leadership development and land-based strategies in West Philadelphia.
Position Summary: UTC’s Community Organizer is tasked with base-building and cultivating progressive Black working-class community leadership around building alternatives (food sovereignty, collective land stewardship) in the Haddington neighborhood of West Philadelphia. As we move into a new stage of development, this position will set the tone and standard for community organizing at UTC.
*This position is currently about 50% remote and 50% onsite at the gardens and farm and in the neighborhood in West Philly. These percentages vary throughout the year (more so remote during the winter and in person during the growing season). *This is subject to change as conditions shift.
