Community Land Trusts: A Tool for Permanent Affordability
Posted by Women’s Community Revitalization Project on March 26, 2018
The City of Philadelphia is changing and as some neighborhoods undergo rapid redevelopment rising housing costs can lead to people being displaced from the communities they call home. Community Land Trusts (CLTs) are a tool to ensure permanent affordability as neighborhoods change.
CLTs have been used for rental housing, homeownership, businesses, community gardens, and much more. Led by John Davis, a national expert on community land trusts, participants in this interactive workshop will learn the basics of community land trusts, understand their applications, and think about the possibilities for their use in Philadelphia.
