COMMUNITY INTERNET SAFETY: KEEPING CHILDREN SAFE IN CYBERSPACE
Presented by: Karin Rex, Computer Ease and Nancy White, Computer Education Coordinator
Most parents and teachers are concerned about children’s safety on the Internet. As part of their community policing effort, many police departments would like to be able to educate their municipalities on this topic. This seminar gives you the information necessary to speak intelligently and persuasively on Internet safety issue. The Internet is an amazing tool with the ability to educate, entertain, and expand a child’s work and possibilities. But this tool can also introduce children to unsavory characters and dangerous information. Parents and teachers need to balance their concern for the Internet’s potential dangers with an appreciation and understanding of the riches that it offers: homework help, research, communication and creativity.
This FREE course provides the information you will need to make informed decisions when it comes to children and the Internet.
