Community Healthcare Interpreter Training!
On November 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2003
A new Community Healthcare Interpreter Training (CHIT) is set on November 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2003 in Philadelphia! Please respond early!
The training follows the model established by the Cross Cultural Health Care Program of Seattle, Washington, nationally known experts in medical interpreter training. It is a Four-Day Training covering basic interpreting skills, information on health care and biomedicine, cultural framework in interpreting, communication skills for facilitating and advocacy, and professional development. It also provides participants with a handbook, medical glossaries, culture-specific materials, and a guide to medications and a certificate of completion. Certification will be issued after successful completion of the training. Space is limited to 25 people.
Dates: November 7, 8, 14, 15, 2003, Fridays and Saturdays
Time: 8:30am – 5pm (refreshments provided)
Location: 260 South Broad Street, 18th Floor PHMC Board Room,
Philadelphia, PA 19102.
Fee: $400.00 per person (Pay to Health Promotion Council)
