Community Health Worker Symposium
Posted by Temple University on November 10, 2014
LISC knows that health is significantly determined by neighborhood quality of life.
The barriers to good healthcare for lower-income families are often not medical in origin, but arise from social, cultural or economic issues. To address these barriers, Philadelphia LISC is advocating for increased deployment of Community Health Workers to improve access to health services and overall resident well-being. Philadelphia LISC seeks to partner with health and community development practitioners that are interested in developing a formal collaboration to employ Community Health Workers as a means to build trust with residents, reduce barriers to access care, improve health outcomes, and create jobs.
We encourage partners to find out more about the Community Health Workers by attending Temple University’s Community Health Worker Symposium on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
