Job Description Summary
Responsible to assist with study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects within a specific Division, under close supervision. Works directly with study physicians, research coordinators, project managers, and other research staff. Performs screening visits, consenting of participants, processing and shipping of labs, entering data into databases, and escorting participants to other testing/procedure areas. Help advance the research mission of the Division and University.
This job will be done in close collaboration with Penn researchers, the MAPS+ Program Manager, and clinic staff. At the beginning of the program, all hired Community Health Workers will benefit from intensive training to prepare them for their positions as well as continued support to help them succeed in their work. Each Community Health Worker will work with about 30 clinic patients using MAPS+ to help them manage their HIV treatment in the context of their lives. We expect this work to be a combination of work in-person, video conference, and/or telephone.
