Congreso is actively looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill the full-time position of Community Health Educator. This person will be responsible for conducting culturally and linguistically competent nutrition and exercise workshops as they relate to diabetes, heart disease, and other health related topics to community residents, students, and professional staff, in one-on-one or group mediums. In addition, the Community Health Educator is responsible for community outreach for the purpose of increasing the levels of awareness on the health disparities most affecting the Latino community.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years experience in community health education, counseling, or other health promotion and education services; 1-2 years public speaking and group facilitation experience; Bilingual (Spanish/ English) required.
Minimum Education: Associates or bachelors degree in nutrition, health education or related field preferred.
Certification/License: Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), Nutrition & Wellness Consultant certificate, group exercise or fitness certificates (i.e. Zumba, ACE, AFPA, ACSM) or related certificates a plus.
