Philabundance, the largest food bank and food rescue organization in the Delaware Valley is seeking a Community Food Center Assistant Manager.

The Community Food Center (CFC) Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the management and operation of the 6th and Lehigh CFC, a food cupboard utilizing the choice model that allows clients to “shop” for their needs. The Assistant Manager is responsible for all operations in the absence of the site manager. Job duties include receiving daily deliveries, organizing product received, creating and reviewing orders, management and supervision of volunteers and ensuring a smooth shopping experience for clients. This is an active position that requires weekend hours.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Create orders for daily deliveries, review throughout the week
* Receive and review deliveries and complete follow up procedures
* Enter check out/ discard pounds into appropriate spreadsheets
* Ensure all inventory meets distribution standards, including handling recalls and maintaining daily refrigerator/freezer temperature logs
* Communicate with supervisor and inventory control regularly regarding inventory
* Supervise volunteers as they unload deliveries (20,000lbs/wk)
* Oversee “Check-out” area ensuring that proper procedures are being followed
* Maintain a clean and organized inventory and shopping area
* Ensure shelves are kept clean, well-stocked and organized
* Monitor “shopping” clients and direct them accordingly
* Ensure shopping environment is friendly and welcoming
* Adhere to organizational policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
* Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred.
* High School Diploma or equivalent required
* Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
* Grocery merchandising and/or general retail experience a plus
* Computer Skills Required: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Access a plus.
