The Supportive Older Women’s Network (SOWN) seeks a part-time (15 hrs/week) Community Engagement/Outreach Specialist to provide services for SOWN’s GrandFamily Resource Center (GFRC), a one stop-shop for grandparents raising grandchildren who are in need of support and resources. GFRC programs take a wholistic, trauma-informed approach to offer grandparent-headed families mental health support, educational tools, and community resources. The Specialist will participate in community outreach and recruitment and serve as a point of contact to connect grandparents with other programs in SOWN’s GrandFamily Resource Center. The Community Engagement/Outreach Specialist will have demonstrated experience working with parenting adults and/or older adults in an urban setting using a trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically sensitive approach. S/he will hold at minimum a bachelor’s degree, preferably in social work, community relations or related field and have a minimum of two years’ experience in social services, community outreach, or family engagement. While no vehicle is required for this position, it will require the ability to travel throughout Philadelphia. This position is scheduled during SOWN’s standard operating hours, Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM with occasional evenings and weekends.
** This position can be combined with the Case Manager position to be full–time.**
