The Community Economic Development (CED) Program
The Community Economic Development (CED) Program is a Federal program that awards grants for projects that create business development opportunities and employment for low-income individuals.
Eligible Applicants Private, non-profit Community Development Corporations (CDCs)
Maximum Grant Amount $800,000
2012 Funding: The 2012 Funding Opportunity Announcement is anticipated to be released soon.
Eligible Uses: Costs of a commercial development, equity investments, capital for a new business, business expansion, business incubators, loans, and revolving loan funds.
Healthy Food Projects Bonus points will be awarded to projects addressing the elimination of food deserts; projects that finance grocery stores, farmers markets or other retail sources that provide access to fresh nutritious food; and projects that collaborate with other Healthy Food Financing Initiative (HFFI) programs
