Posted by on November 11, 2013
I am writing to invite you to two upcoming events: Community Driven Research Day on Thursday, January 30, 2014 and Research Readiness Day on Thursday, December 5, 2013. To learn more about both events, please visit our website at http://injury.research.chop.edu/violence-prevention/community-driven-research-day.
Community Driven Research Day encourages collaboration between university-based research partners and community based organizations (CBOs) who have research questions that they are interested in answering. Through an interactive poster session, CBOs will highlight their research questions to researchers from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, The University of Pennsylvania, Temple University and Drexel University. CBOs and academic researchers will be able to meet and discuss potential collaborations. The 2013/2014 Community Driven Research Day will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2014. CBO’s must submit a form to participate no later than January 10th. To present a poster, please complete a submission form by clicking here.
Additionally, non-presenters, i.e. academic researchers, students, other community organizations must register for the event no later than January 17th by clicking here.
Research Readiness Day is a technical assistance event for groups interested in presenting a poster during CDRD. All organizations interested in displaying a poster at CDRD are strongly encouraged to attend Research Readiness Day prior to submitting their request to participate. Each attendee will receive an overview of Community Based Participatory Research (academic and community partners working hand in hand in research); review the submission and review process for Community Driven Research Day; learn how to develop and refine research questions; and receive an overview of how to design a poster presentation. 2013/2014 Research Readiness Day will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2013. To register for the event, click here.
You can learn more about both Community Driven Research Day and Research Readiness Day by visiting our website.
