The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), is a private, non-profit national organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality, offers a wide range of educational programs for patients and health care professionals, and provides supportive services to patients and family members.
CCFA seeks an energetic, experienced leader to serve as Community Development Director for its Philadelphia/Delaware Chapter located in Trevose, PA. This highly visible and hands on executive will be responsible for the leadership, management and growth within the chapter. Responsibilities include:
Management
• Develop, implement and monitor an annual budget and work plan, including fundraising, public and professional education programs, support services, leadership development and volunteer recruitment
• Recruit, select, train and supervise 6 chapter staff
• Provide leadership, management and training for chapter staff and volunteers
Revenue Growth
• Create and implement strategies to meet fundraising goals through special events (Take Steps Walk, Team Challenge Endurance Event, Gala, 5K run), major gifts, and grants.
• Cultivation and stewardship of major donors.
• Research and identify new major gift/donor prospects.
Board and Volunteer Development
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with board members.
• Continuously seek out opportunities to build and maintain a strong board.
• Work closely with the Board President to guide and motivate board members
• Identify, recruit, support and reward volunteers. Provide leadership to help volunteers establish program goals and objectives, and to assist in implementing program activities and fundraising events
The ideal candidate will have a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 7-10 years experience in an executive or senior management capacity; previous experience as an Executive Director is a plus. Strong candidates will have a proven track record in fundraising, major gifts, knowledge of special events and the ability to foster partnerships in the community. Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency with MS Office required, Raiser’s Edge a plus.
