Community Development Assistant, Neighborhood Advisory Committee (half-time).
Make arrangements for and help publicize and conduct community, committee, and other meetings.
Advise and assist community residents with requests for assistance from other agencies, related applications, and other paperwork.
Help residents identify block and neighborhood needs and organize to meet those needs.
Investigate applications to the Zoning Board of Adjustment and help residents and NKCDC develop and present positions related to these applications.
Help gather, record, and report data and information relating to community services and conditions.
Help develop new community development initiatives and secure funding for them.
Perform routine clerical work as required by the foregoing responsibilities: preparing letters and neighborhood flyers, preparing large mailings, copying and collating, filing, answering phones, taking and preparing meeting notes, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervision: This person will work closely with and be supervised by the Neighborhood Advisory Committee Coordinator, but will also cooperate with other NKCDC staff as assignments require
Hours: 20 hours per week; normal schedule to be negotiated, but will vary at times depending on current assignments.

Qualities: College courses in a discipline related to community development or significant experience working in a community development capacity.
Flexible self-starter who can work without close supervision; able to analyze assignments, identify and address sub-tasks, and keep various assignments moving simultaneously.
Ability to interact courteously, efficiently, and effectively with NKCDC staff, residents, and representatives of other organizations.
Ability to express oneself well in written English.
Competence in Windows, Word, and Outlook computer software; competence in Access and Excel desirable; ability to learn additional software programs.
