America Walks Accepting Applications for 2017 Community Change Grants
America Walks provides a voice for walking and walkable communities as well as strategy support, training, and technical assistance to statewide, regional, and local organizations. The organization believes that walkable communities lead to improved safety and health for community members of all ages, abilities, genders, and backgrounds, and engages all community members in the work being done to create safe, accessible, and enjoyable places to walk and be physically active.
To that end, the organization is accepting applications for its Community Change Grants program, which will award microgrants of up to $1,500 to projects related to the development of healthy, active, and engaged places to live, work, and play. To be eligible for a grant, projects should increase the amount of walking and the benefits of walkability in the target community, work to grow the walking movement by engaging people and organizations new to such efforts, and help advance the creation of a culture of inclusive health.
See the America Walks website for complete program guidelines and application instructions.
Deadline: November 10, 2017
