Community-Based Dental Care Initiatives – Oct 1
Posted by American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry on August 31, 2021
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) Foundation is committed to supporting community-based initiatives that provide dental care and will ultimately serve as a “Dental Home” to underserved/limited-access children.
To that end, the foundation is inviting applications for its Access to Care Grants program, which will award up to $20,000 in support of U.S.-based community-based initiatives that provide dental care and will ultimately serve as a dental home to underserved/limited-access children.
The AAPD defines a “Dental Home” as the ongoing relationship between the dentist and the patient, inclusive of all aspects of oral health care, delivered in a comprehensive, continuously accessible, coordinated, and family-centered way. The Dental Home should be established by no later than twelve months of age to help children and their families institute a lifetime of good oral health. A Dental Home addresses anticipatory guidance and preventive, acute, and comprehensive oral health care and includes referral to dental specialists when appropriate.
Deadline to apply is October 1, 2021.
