“Community Arts: A Revolution in the Making,” 67th Annual Conference of National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts
Boston, Mass.
November 17-21, 2004.
http://www.nationalguild.org/
The 67th Annual Conference of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts will focus on our belief that the arts are intrinsically linked with the rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Despite this fundamental connection, the arts are threatened by withering funding sources, competition with other societal priorities and a malaise of general support. Community schools of the arts are dynamic, entrepreneurial institutions which are playing an increasingly important role in strengthening a sense of community through the arts. What could be more fitting than to congregate in historic Boston, where the revolution for our country began, to gather our strength, raise our collective voices and intensify the pitch of the battle for the preservation and growth of the institutions we revere. It is an opportunity that none of us can afford to miss!
The conference will provide an array of opportunities for developing skills, exchanging information and networking with your peers. Workshops will address a broad spectrum of issues critical to all types and sizes of institutions in all disciplines, as well as specialized topics targeted to various constituencies, including faculty and trustees.
