Summary
The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will help plan, and execute day‐to‐day efforts of, marketing of NTR’s brand, image, products, and services. Media include print, email, referral, event, social media, and possibly radio.
Essential functions
1. Help develop and execute a comprehensive strategy of social media use for increasing organization visibility and driving program traffic.
2. Develop relationships for and execute flyer distribution, group presentation, and tabling opportunities.
3. Develop and execute a brand ambassador program for incentivized volunteers to engage their communities.
4. Build relationships with local media outlets.
5. Assist with large or timely development projects, as assigned.
6. Occasionally assist other departments or perform other tasks, as assigned.
Environment
1. This position reports to the Development Manager
2. Operating environments include office, warehouse, production shop, classroom, and off‐site locations.
3. This position includes occasional lifting, manipulating, and/or moving of objects up to 25 pounds.
4. This is a part‐time position, with a flexible schedule of approximately 30 hours Monday‐Thursday, and occasional evening or weekend hours.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (communications, marketing, public relations, etc.) and/or 2 years of closely related experience, with a combination of the two preferred.
2. Demonstrated understanding of the social media landscape, relevant tools, and nuances of online presence.
3. Effective communication skills: community outreach strategy, composition, and public speaking.
4. Demonstrated patience, diplomacy, approachability, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
5. Full competency of information and business skills including: email, calendaring, document creation/editing, filing, and team collaboration.
6. Ability to remain organized, friendly, and productive while working under pressure, in a distracting environment, and with people from a variety of ethnic, cultural, educational, and socioeconomic origins.
7. Helpful but not required: graphic design skill, web design skill, IS/IT knowledge or experience, or ability to speak Spanish.
