College Success Coach, College Together

Posted by College Together on May 13, 2025

American universities are in crisis: costs are skyrocketing too high and graduation rates remain stubbornly low. Here in Pennsylvania, we rank 49th in the nation for public funding for higher education, leaving students with a dearth of affordable and proven options. This is unacceptable. We can and must do better.

College Together (CT) disrupts the status quo. CT is a new and trusted nonprofit that serves college students in the Philadelphia area. Our learners earn a radically affordable college degree in a project-based, online format while engaging with our vibrant community in person. Through a “fusion college” partnership with Southern New Hampshire University, CT students are mentored daily through an innovative, work-ready college curriculum. While the curriculum is digital, students receive one-on-one, in-person support and forge community at our downtown and fully resourced “CT Campus.”

About the Position

CT is looking for a full-time, entry-level team member to join our growing staff. The College Success Coach will focus on learner support and academic program development. In this role, they will:

  • Serve as an academic coach with daily one-on-one mentorship sessions with students;
  • Help students build skills to navigate academic, career, and life challenges so they can reach their
    goals;
  • Become well-versed in College Together’s competency-based curriculum;
  • Report to the Director of Student Persistence and Outcomes and support them in developing coaching strategies for academic and executive functioning skills;
  • Build warm and genuine relationships with students while holding them to high expectations and accountability to their academic and career success;
  • Utilize data to inform and innovate strategies for student success in their educational and professional journeys;
  • Support senior staff with data collection, reporting, and implementation around all program goals;
  • Design and hold academic workshops and other supplemental events related to student success and learning;
  • Be an active and contributing staff member during “FIO” (our term for orientation) & student onboarding;
  • Be part of a fast-moving, outcomes-focused, and dedicated team intent on building a nonprofit that is impactful, thoughtful, sustainable, and scalable;
  • Create a welcoming and productive environment for current and prospective students;
  • Help with other duties as assigned and mutually agreed upon by the Coach and senior leadership.
