College for the Adult Learner
Posted by National College Access Network on June 5, 2017
New e-learning unit for serving adult learners! NCAN just released a new e-learning unit for programs that serve or want to serve adult learners, which contains effective strategies and valuable information for advisors working with this population. NCAN wishes to thank The Graduate! Network, CAEL and College Now for providing content for this unit.
Module: Serving Specific Populations
Unit 1 – Adult Learner
Americans increasingly recognize that college is a good way to improve long-term economic outcomes and most communities have college access programs. At the same time, there is also a growing understanding that there are still not enough college graduates or students in the K-12 pipeline to fill the need for educated workers in the coming decades. As a result, many colleges and universities recognize the value of providing programs for adults who have not yet earned a college credential. This course will introduce you to the strengths and needs of adults who have earned some college credit and are now seeking to return to college.
Cost: Free for NCAN members / $79 for nonmembers.
