Workshop Description: GED 2014 is here. Come to this workshop to learn about incorporating career-focused contextualized learning opportunities into your program to address the common core and prepare students for the rigors of the new G.E.D. exam. This interactive workshop provides instructors with a chance to explore effective instructional strategies that help students become college and career ready.

Representatives from LaGuardia Community College’s Bridge to College and Careers Program will share career-focused activities and program samples that you can adapt for use in your own classroom.  You will explore the rationale for contextualized instruction, participate in activities from the point of view of instructor and student, and learn how to align instruction to students’ career and educational goals.
