Sorority sets scholarship workshop
The Omega Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will hold a free workshop for students in Grades 9–12 and their family members to help them navigate the path to college.
Participants in the workshop will receive up to date information on the entire college process. Noted higher education specialists will share valuable information from searching for the right school to strategies for financing an education during this economic downturn. There will be ample time for questions and answers.
Applications for the 10th Annual Black College Tour sponsored by chapter will also be available.
Speakers at the workshop include Thomas Butler, Executive Director, Project GRAD, and Cheryl Browning, Regional Director of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.
The event will be held on Wednesday, November 11th from 10am to 2pm at the Khepera Charter School, 144 W. Carpenter Lane in West Philadelphia. A light lunch will be provided.
