Agency: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Program: Building Regional Coalition to Promote Patient Safety.
Eligibility: Public and private nonprofit organizations, government agencies, hospitals, universities and colleges, Indian tribes, and faith-based organizations.
Funds: $100,000 for one award in fiscal 2002.
Deadline: June 10 for letter of intent.
Summary: Funding is for building regional coalitions to promote patient safety. Coalitions will combine efforts of major health-care stakeholders to promote patient safety by preventing adverse events associated with health care, including evaluation of prevention effectiveness and cost effectiveness. Preference given to applicants who demonstrate the presence of an existing regional health-care coalition with active participation of a broad spectrum of health-care stakeholders.
