Join the Coalition of Urban and Metropolitan Universities (CUMU) on zoom for an Open House on February 9, 2023, 1:00-2:00 PM to hear more about our 2023 programming, including the re-launched Anchor Learning Network (ALN), new Huddles, Annual Conference in Washington D.C. this October, Metropolitan Universities journal opportunities, and more:

  • 2023 Annual Conference, Resilient Campuses. Resilient Cities.: October 15–18, Washington D.C. We welcome submissions that critically examine how our campuses and cities embrace shared understandings of and a commitment to fostering greater resilience.
  • Anchor Learning Network (ALN): Leveraging a peer learning framework in a year-long cohort model, CUMU members work collaboratively to implement initiatives across their campuses and develop regional partnership to improve the social, economic, and physical well-being of their cities.
  • Huddles: Join one or more to learn and share about effective practices with other CUMU members in:
    • Community Engagement Evaluation: Using evaluation to understand, advance, and sustain partnerships, programs, and structures to support community engagement.
    • Hispanic Serving Institutions: Enhancing educational opportunities for our Hispanic students.
    • Social and Economic Mobility: Increasing our students’ capacity to transcend barriers faced by earlier generations and unlock potential for lifelong success.
    • Workforce Development: Re-imagining how we educate, train, and prepare the employees and leaders needed for the future.
  • Metropolitan Universities journal (MUJ): CUMU’s peer-reviewed, open access journal for scholarship related to the issues you see on your urban and metropolitan campuses.
  • Research Initiatives and much more!
