Registration is open for the 2011 CUMU Conference October 9-11, 2011 hosted by Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Register before September 9, 2011 to receive the Early Bird Discount!

This year’s theme, “Creating Tomorrow’s Future Today,” will explore university/community partnerships that are preparing both to embrace the future. Partnerships in the areas of enhancing student experiential learning, expanding the roles of faculty that embrace both university and community settings, extending the university’s reach through community partnerships, creating dual urban planning projects, and creating academic offerings that uniquely engage the local community are just a few examples of proposals fitting the theme.
Dewitt Jones

On Tuesday, October 11, world-class photojournalist Dewitt Jones will offer closing remarks. Jones is one of America’s top professional photographers with a career stretching over twenty-five years. As a motion picture director, he has had two films nominated for Academy Awards before he was thirty. He has published nine books, including California!, Visions of Wilderness, What the Road Passes By, Robert Frost, A Tribute To The Source, Canyon Country and John Muir’s High Sierra. His most recent book, The Nature of Leadership was created in collaboration with Stephen R. Covey (The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People).

Jones is recognized as a world-class lecturer. His knowledge of the creative process, his relaxed and genuine style, and his ability to communicate make his presentations truly outstanding.

The CUMU conference will include numerous presentations and panel discussions by members from across the US including Keynote speakers include Lumina Foundation President and CEO, Jamie P. Merisotis, NCAA President, Mark A. Emmert, and Allison Melangton, President and CEO 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee.
