The Achieving Independence Center (AIC) is a “one-stop center” designed to help young people, ages 16-21, from the dependent (foster care) system achieve their future goals of self-sufficiency.
The Coach/Case Manager is responsible for:
1) Assist youth in developing and implementing an individual plan for independence including but not limited to housing, employment, education, mentoring, healthy living and other life skills goals.
2. To conduct individual life skills counseling on an ongoing and as directed basis for AIC Members, including the use of life skills assessment tools to inform practice with the youth.
3. To monitor youth attendance at school, work and the AI Center, as well their compliance with program rules and expectations.
4. To complete AIC Member intake and ongoing paperwork consistent with program protocols, in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will possess:
A commitment to positive youth development and a strengths-based approach.
Training in (or willingness to learn) adventure-based counseling techniques.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or other related field.
Child Abuse, Criminal Background and FBI clearances.
Available early evenings and weekends.
Enjoys working with teens.
