Coach, Mindset (Full-Time)

Utilizing the ECS Path to Prosperity model (adapted from EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring® Model), the MindSet Coach is a member of a dynamic team of coaching staff who support program participants working to achieve economic self-sufficiency.  The Coach asks meaningful questions, offers guidance and shares resources so that the participant can achieve self-identified goals that result in improved health and financial well-being as they address education and employment related goals.

Primary Functions:

  • Champion the ECS Path to Prosperity model (adapted from EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring Model®) throughout all ECS by providing peer coaching, team support and Prosperity Model coaching as part of participant services.
  • Partner with participants in developing short and long term goals and corresponding action plans related to obtaining/retaining employment, engaging education and career planning, and improving their financial management, housing, and/or health and wellbeing to ensure their economic mobility.
  • Document progress through the administration of all relevant assessments.
  • Make referrals to additional ECS programming/services or partner organizations, as appropriate.
  • Provide strengths-based, person and family-centered coaching with a focus on achieving economic independence.
  • Utilize an incentive model to encourage and promote goal achievement amongst participants.
  • Facilitate an interactive engagement process of assessment, planning, coaching & counseling, negotiation, communication & mediation, advocacy, referrals & linkages, education, support, resource management and services coordination using culturally competent and trauma-informed care approaches.
  • Work as a team member, including sharing experiences to inform modifications to program design.
  • Manage and maintain all administrative and compliance related documents, files, and records in ECS’ database, ETO.
