CNCS/LEARNS Web-Based Tutor Training Call-in

Learn more about using the CNCS/LEARNS Web-Based Tutor Training

Does your program engage tutors to assist children with reading? Have you seen the new CNCS/LEARNS Web-Based Tutor Training? The Web-Based Tutor Training, designed specifically for national service programs, offers interactive orientation and training in a variety of effective reading strategies. If you are interested in learning more about the training or exchanging ideas about how to use the training, please join one of our Web-Based Tutor Training Calls.

Calls include the following:
* Overview of the Web-Based Tutor Training and its key components
* An indepth look at one section of the Web-Based Tutor Training
* Opportunity to ask questions and share ideas about using the Web site to support your tutors

To make the calls successful, the LEARNS team asks that participants:
* Register in advance for the calls by e-mailing martinn@nwrel.org. Space is limited to 15 people per call. Please include complete contact information, including name, organization, address, phone number, stream of service and type of program.
* Visit and familiarize yourself with the Web site before the call. The URL is: http://www.nwrel.org/learns/web-based.
* Participate in the call at your computer station, so that you can look at and try out the features we discuss.
* If possible, use Internet Explorer (5.0 or later), or other current Web browser that supports CSS (cascading style sheets.)

The next group of calls are scheduled at the following times. You will receive the call-in number when you register. The calls will last one hour.

* Friday, January 21 at 11:00PST/2:00EST
* Tuesday, January 25 at 10:00PST/1:00EST
* Friday, February 4 at 11:00PST/2:00EST
