Civic Learning for an Engaged Democracy Forum
Posted by Campus Compact on December 20, 2022
On December 13th and 14th Campus Compact hosted the first in a series of planning and action forums on college civic learning. Along with our CLDE partners, we brought together hundreds of educators and policy leaders to expand civic learning in higher education.
On December 13th and 14th, Campus Compact was proud to host the CLDE Coalition’s first Planning and Action Forum for Educators and Policy Leaders. Over the course of two days, attendees heard from coalition leaders, policy experts, higher education shared their thoughts and ideas for how to increase the already abundant civic learning practices at higher education institutions to impact all students on all campuses.
Attendees spent time discussing topics like, dialogue and deliberation, K-12 partnerships, new research on the benefits of civic learning for students, and how state, college, and accreditation systems can play a part in making deep civic learning opportunities the standard for all students.
In the coming days, all sessions will be posted on the Campus Compact YouTube channel, so be sure to subscribe!
Don’t miss the next forum. Forum 2, Bridging the Divides, Including All Students: Diversity, Equity, and High-Impact Civic Learning Pathways, takes place February 6 & 7, 2023.
