Civic Impact and Communications Coordinator, Project Pericles – Apr 28
Posted by Project Pericles on April 8, 2025
Project Pericles is a higher education nonprofit dedicated to advancing civic participation and social responsibility across college campuses. Through faculty leadership programs, community-engaged learning, and co-curricular initiatives, we equip faculty and students with the knowledge, skills, and resources to address society’s most pressing challenges. In collaboration with our consortium of colleges and universities (“Pericleans”), we foster institutional commitments to ensure that active civic participation is woven throughout the curriculum and campus culture. By providing funding opportunities, national convenings, and thought leadership, Project Pericles strengthens higher education’s role in preparing students for lives of meaningful impact and public purpose. The organization was founded in 2001 by the visionary educational philanthropist Eugene M. Lang and is physically based in Manhattan.
The Role
The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting and advancing Periclean initiatives related to civic engagement, community-engaged learning, and higher education. This role involves a combination of communications, program management, and administrative duties, with a focus on impact reporting, managing re-grant programs, and developing student-facing internship/fellowship opportunities. The ideal candidate is a proactive, operationally-minded individual with strong storytelling abilities, digital competence, and a systems-thinking mindset.
We are at a critical moment in American democracy and higher education, and this role presents an extraordinary opportunity for an extraordinary individual. As a key member of our small team, you will gain comprehensive experience in nonprofit operations, program management, and strategic decision-making, while collaborating with campuses and partner organizations nationwide. Beyond professional experience, we value passion, drive, and an eagerness to take ownership of projects and contribute to the organization’s strategic direction during this transformative time in our nation.
This is a full-time remote position with a hybrid option for those based around NYC.
Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, with priority consideration given to applicants who send their submission by Monday, April 28, 2025.
