Civic Engagement Fair and Book Launch of Represent: The Unfinished Fight for the Vote – Sep 17
Posted by The Philadelphia Citizen on September 3, 2024
Join us on September 17, 2024, at the Fitler Club Ballroom (1 South 24th Street, Philadelphia, PA) for the launch of the new book by thought leaders and acclaimed authors Rev. Michael Eric Dyson and Marc Favreau, Represent: The Unfinished Fight for the Vote.
One of the most important and least understood true stories of our nation, the fight for representation is an ongoing and epic quest to build the democracy sketched out in the Constitution but unfinished in the 21st century. Represent is a dramatic exploration of the story of voting rights in the United States, from the American Revolution up to the present day.
Dyson and Favreau will be in conversation with Evening WURDs Radio host James Peterson.
Civic Engagement Fair, 5-6pm | Program and Book Signing, 7:00-7:30PM
Learn how to DO SOMETHING this election season and beyond to help your neighbors vote, support those in need, create opportunities for all and be a better Philadelphia citizen. Teenagers and young adults are encouraged to attend.
The whole event is free and open to the public and the book will be available for sale. Complimentary drinks will be available for guests to enjoy.
