Civic Education Forum: The Reading Viaduct
Posted by on October 8, 2004
Young Involved Philadelphia presents:
OCTOBER FORUM: The Reading Viaduct: Saturday, October 23rd at 2:00 PM. Meet at Cafe Lift (428 N. 13th Street) for a guided tour of the Viaduct, located in the Loft District/North Chinatown area. The Reading Viaduct is an interesting piece of Philadelphia’s industrial heritage. So close to downtown, why hasn’t anything been done to transform the mass of concrete into retail space, housing, or an elevated city park? Reading Viaduct Project plans to transform the viaduct into a large expanse of urban greenspace. After the tour we’ll hear plans for the Viaduct at Cafe Lift. Guest speakers include representatives from Reading Viaduct Project, Asian Arts Initiative, and Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation.
