Civic Assembly Exploration Virtual Event for Community Colleges – Feb 5
Posted by Campus Compact on January 13, 2026
As part of this initiative to support civic innovation at community colleges, we’re developing a citizen’s assembly pilot program and will host a Q&A session for prospective partners on Thursday, February 5th from 3-4 PM ET.
Civic assemblies help leaders find solutions to public problems by bringing together a representative sample of a population. These delegates collaborate with experts and officials to create powerful platforms for any institution that wants to include their stakeholders in a decision-making process. At community colleges, assemblies could help leaders collect opinions, create buy-in, and develop effective policies that work well for their entire community.
Together, Campus Compact and New America will partner with community colleges to identify topics for assemblies, design the engagement process, carry out the event, and offer guidance for the administration’s next steps.
