New city homeless prevention program starts
The City of Philadelphia’s new Homelessness Prevention Program offers help to individuals and families who are at risk of becoming homeless as a result of falling behind in rent or utility payments. The program begins operation on October 1st.
Eligible participants must have a household income at or below 50% of the median income in Philadelphia; be experiencing a financial crisis and at risk of becoming homeless; and have received written notification from your landlord or the utility company of an impending eviction or shut- off.
Financial assistance is available to help with rent, utilities, security deposits and/or
moving and relocation costs.

— Women’s Community Revitalization Project, 407 Fairmount Ave., 215-627-5550 ext. 233;
— Utility Emergency Services Fund in partnership with Intercultural Family Services, 4225 Chestnut Street, 215-386-1298 ext. 213.
