City of Philadelphia 2011 Volunteer Impact Challenge
Posted by on January 10, 2011
On January 22, 2011 Mayor Nutter will host a day of service to kick-off his 2011 Volunteer Impact Challenge. The Challenge is designed to tap into the time, talent and generous volunteer spirit of citizens committed to making Philadelphia great. The Mayor’s Office of Civic Engagement and Volunteer Service will partner with faith communities, neighborhood groups, educational institutions, and leaders in the volunteer movement to mobilize citizens over the course of the year in support of projects designed to address both local and citywide challenges.
January 22nd will also mark the launch of http://www.SERVEPhiladelphia.com. This important new site will serve as a one-stop shop for Philadelphians looking for volunteer opportunities. Additionally, the site will feature everything you need to know about the Mayor’s 2011 Volunteer Impact Challenge and Volunteer Recognition Events.
We hope that you, your family and friends will join us for this exciting event intended to inspire participants to make a year-long commitment to serving their fellow Philadelphians. For a schedule of the day’s activities, and to RSVP, please go to: http://servephiladelphia.eventbrite.com or call 216.686.2193. Lunch and a SERVEPhiladelphia t-shirt will be provided to everyone who registers in advance.
Many thanks and all the best for 2011!
