Learn more about each class:
Adult Basic Education or Adult Secondary Education
Our Adult Basic Education (grades 1-8) and Adult Secondary Education (grades 9-12) classes will help you obtain your High School Equivalency Diploma (GED). To be a student in these classes, you must be 18 years or older and live in Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Bucks, or Montgomery Counties. These classes are open to U.S.-born and immigrant students, and non-native English speakers are encouraged to apply.
Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm, from August 14 to November 3. We will assign students to classes based on their assessment score.
Citizenship Preparation
Our Citizenship Preparation class will help you prepare for your U.S. citizenship exam. If you are planning on naturalizing in the next two years, you should apply for this class. Elementary knowledge of English is required to attend this class.
The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00 to 8:30 pm, from August 15 to October 26.
Professional English
Our Professional English class focuses on advanced writing, reading, and speaking skills. The class is open to foreign-educated professionals (bachelor’s or higher) looking to increase their fluency.
The class meets Mondays and Wednesdays, from August 14 to October 25. Registration is $250. Enrollment is limited to 10 students.
