Laurel House – Children’s Advocate
Laurel House is seeking a Children’s Advocate to provide supportive services and advocacy to children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence. The position will also provide parents with education and options counseling regarding their children; collaborate and advocate as needed with other service providers and Laurel House staff on behalf of children; and work with the Director of Community Education and Volunteers to develop and conduct presentations for community and school groups.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education psychology, social work or related field with emphasis on services to children; experience with at-risk children or victims of trauma; and computer competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. A PCADV approved domestic violence training certificate is required, but can be acquired once hired.
