Chief External Affairs Officer, Let’s Get Ready

Posted by Let's Get Ready on July 19, 2022

About the Organization:

Let’s Get Ready (LGR) envisions a future when students from all socioeconomic backgrounds have the support they need to attain a college education. Through an innovative program model that stands apart from other college access and success programs, LGR currently serves more than 15,000 students annually and engages more than 120 college students as paid near-peer coaches, most of whom are former participants in the program. There is no nomination process or academic requirements for participation in Let’s Get Ready programs. Any student who expresses interest is eligible for services, with students from low-income backgrounds or who are first-generation-to-college given priority. Overall, 89% of LGR students are students of color, 80% are eligible for free or reduced price lunch, and 71% are the first in their family to attend college.

About the Position:

Primarily an external-facing leader, the Chief External Affairs Officer (CXO) is an exceptional catalyst, creating innovative resource opportunities, and will increase the visibility, credibility and sustainability of LGR. A seasoned executive-level professional, the CXO is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing the implementation of activities that increase, diversify and sustain philanthropic support and earned income, particularly from major donors, foundations and institutional partnerships.

Leading the Development, Marketing, and Partnerships departments, this individual will develop and drive overall strategies in the areas of fundraising, communications, and enrollment growth.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board of Directors, this position is a member of the Executive Team and will join our diverse, social justice-oriented team of 22+ full-time staff, and more than 120+ part-time college student employees.
