Nominations of Individuals and Organizations Invited for Chevron Conservation Awards Program
Deadline: May 31, 2006

The Chevron (<a href="http://www.chevron.com/">http://www.chevron.com/</a>) Conservation Awards Program recognizes outstanding contributions by individuals and organizations to the conservation of natural resources around the world. Since its inception, the program has recognized nearly one thousand citizen volunteers, professionals, and non-profit organizations for their efforts to protect air, water, land, and wildlife around the world.

Winners are selected by an independent panel of conservationists and receive a cash award of $15,000 to assist them in their conservation work.

A total of six awards will be selected from the following three categories:
1) Individuals: Individuals whose conservation efforts are a voluntary expression of good citizenship.

2) Professionals: Individual career professionals either currently employed or retired form the conservation field.

3) Nonprofit Organizations, Public Agencies, and Educational Institutions: Private-sector organizations whose work force comprises volunteers, paid staff, or both. Public agencies, defined as administrative divisions with specific functions. Educational institutions of all learning levels.

The awards are open to entries from anywhere in the world and nomination is open to everyone.
