Date: Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 Time: 6:00 P.M -7:00 P.M
Fundamentals of Child Development, Credit Hours: 1.00
In this training you will find ways to apply basic child development principles to child guidance techniques. Review stages of child development and discuss methods of implementing these principles. Leave this course with both an understanding of and ability to apply the principles of child development in the caring environment.
Target Audience: Out of School Time Providers, Social Workers, Educators, Parents/Guardians, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, High School Students, Mental Health Professionals.

Working with Adolescents, Credit Hours: 1.00
In this workshop, participants will learn to distinguish between the definition of Positive Youth Development for working with adolescent and its practice when serving youth ages 12-18. Participants will also test their own attitudes and assumptions about working with adolescents as they examine the Search Institute’s list of 40 Developmental Assets, as well as discuss some of the common barriers to Positive Youth Development.

This training provides you with a proven step-by-step design process. Learn how to confidently apply skills to develop a critical thinker with time-saving shortcuts to simplify your job and to produce better out comes. We will give you simple, yet powerful, techniques for making your work more meaningful.

Working with Youth with Behavior Issues, Credit Hours: 1.5
This training provides participants with the knowledge, tools, and practical strategies that will empower you to support students with behavior issues.
Target Audience: Out of School Time Providers, Social Workers, Educators, Parents/Guardians, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, High School Students, Mental Health Professionals.

Date: Tuesday, June, 24th, 2014 Time: 6:00 P.M -8:00 P.M
Understanding Suicide, Credit Hours: 2.00
Suicide has become one of the most common killers of Americans between the ages of 15 and 45. This training will help participants understand the suicidal mind, recognize and come to the aid of those at risk, and to comprehend the profound effects on those left behind.
Target Audience: Out of School Time Providers, Social Workers, Educators, Parents/Guardians, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, Mental Health Professionals.

Crisis Intervention, Credit Hours: 2.00
This training covers the fundamentals of situational and developmental crises, how they occur, and how they have and should be managed as well as the ABC Model of Crisis Intervention.
Target Audience: Parents/Guardians, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, Mental Health Professionals, Out of School Time Providers, Social Workers, Educators.

Date: Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 Time: 6:00 P.M -8:00 P.M
Navigating the JuvenileJustice System, Credit Hours: 2.00
This training will support participants that work with or know youth involved in the juvenile justice system, facing multiple challenges, and are in particular need of multiple supports. Participants will gain an overview of the juvenile justice system and the common characteristics of the youth involved in it, as well as learn strategies to build relationships with this population.
Target Audience: Social Workers, Educators, Parents/Guardians, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, Out of School Time Providers, Mental Health Professionals.

Date: Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 Time: 11:00 A.M -12:30 P.M
Preparing for the Keystone Exam, Credit Hours: 1.5
This training will help participants gather a better understanding about the Keystone exam and what can be done to make the most of these changes.
Target Audience: Parents/Guardians Out of School Time Providers, Social Workers, Educators, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, High School Students.

Date: Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 Time: 11:00 A.M -12:30 P.M
Implementation of PA common core standards, Credit Hours: 1.5
This training invites parents, students, OST providers, community members, professionals and educators to think about the possibilities the Common Core State Standards offer for strengthening teaching and learning across the state, as well as helps participants gauge a better understand of the new PA common core standards.
Target Audience: Parents/Guardians Out of School Time Providers, Social Workers, Educators, Youth Development Professionals, Caseworkers, High School Students.

Certificates and Credits
Participants will receive training credit upon successful completion of each session. Individuals will receive a Certificate of Attendance listing their name, the date, the training title and the number of training hours upon each session’s completion.

*Note: Certificates and training credits will not be given to any individual who arrives to a workshop more than 15 minutes late, or does not stay until the end of the session.
