Chester County Fund for Women and Girls
Posted by on October 13, 2008
The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls is currently accepting applications for its By Girls, For Girls grantmaking program, which gives 15-20 local girls the opportunity to award $20,000 grants to local nonprofit organizations that help girls in Chester County. The organization is looking for sophomore, junior or senior high school girls who live in Chester County to join its 2009 Girls Advisory Board (GAB).
During the past five years, GAB has awarded $70,000 to agencies that target girls’ needs such as self-esteem, violence, homelessness, teen pregnancy and substance abuse through innovative programs and services. From January to June 2009, GAB members will discuss community need, create their own grant application, review proposals, conduct site visits and award grants to the organizations they feel best address girls’ needs.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday November 5th. Applications are available here. http://www.ccwomenandgirls.org/
Hard copies can be sent to Marcia Wright-Soika, Development and Programs Assistant, Chester County Fund for Women and Girls, Goshen Executive Center, 1450 East Boot Road, Suite 400 B, West Chester, PA 19380
